Assassination seems to be the preferred choice of the
leaders of the “civilized world” to exact Baptism by Fire. What is Baptism by Fire? According to Wikipedia, Baptism by Fire is
..."to overwhelm with fire (those who do not repent), i.e., to subject
them to the terrible penalties of hell"….
fire of Divine judgment. But, whose Divine judgment?
The recent “assassination” of Putin opposition leader Boris
Nemtsov elicited stern consternation toward Putin from world leaders Barack
Obama and David Cameron. From The Guardian.
Excerpt:
World leaders condemn murder of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov
World leaders led by David Cameron and Barack Obama have condemned the
killing of prominent Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, who was shot
dead in Moscow on Friday evening….
Cameron said the callous murder must be “fully, rapidly and transparently investigated, and those responsible
brought to justice”.
The US president called on
Russia’s government to conduct a “prompt, impartial and transparent”
investigation, describing Nemtsov as a “tireless advocate” for
citizens’ rights and fighting corruption….
A spokesman for German chancellor,
Angela Merkel, said she was dismayed by Nemtsov’s killing and praised his
courage in criticising government policies….
The office of the French president,
François Hollande, described the killing as an “assassination” and described
the politician as a “courageous and tireless defender of democracy and a dogged
fighter against corruption”.
Aaahh yes, so much indignation so little time. What kind of lawless government’s leader
would sanction the assassination of one of its citizens without due
process? From The Guardian:
Excerpt:
Chilling legal memo from Obama DOJ justifies assassination of US
citizens
Glenn Greenwald
The most extremist power any
political leader can assert is the power to target his own citizens for
execution without any charges or due process, far from any battlefield. The
Obama administration has not only asserted exactly that power in theory, but
has exercised it in practice.
In September 2011, it killed US
citizen Anwar Awlaki in a drone strike in Yemen, along with US citizen Samir
Khan, and then, in circumstances that are still unexplained, two weeks later
killed Awlaki's 16-year-old American son Abdulrahman with a separate drone
strike in Yemen….
…What has made these actions all the more radical is the absolute secrecy
with which Obama has draped all of this. Not only is the entire process carried
out solely within the Executive branch - with
no checks or oversight of any kind - but there is zero transparency and zero accountability.
Yes, Obama demands Russia’s government conduct a “prompt,
impartial and transparent” investigation, the kind of investigation
that the American people were denied in the assassination of American citizen
Anwar Awlaki by his government.
Who composes these government sanctioned hit lists? What kind of drastic illegal actions by an
American citizen would make him or her a candidate to be executed on the order
of the President of the United States with charges against them and no
opportunity to face their accuser?
The president's underlings
compile their proposed lists of who should be executed, and
the president - at a charming weekly event dubbed by White House aides as
"Terror Tuesday" - then chooses from "baseball cards" and
decrees in total secrecy who should die.
The power of accuser, prosecutor, judge, jury,
and executioner are all consolidated in this one man, and those powers are
exercised in the dark.
Really, is this what America has come to, underlings
in the United States government, probably comprised of State Department and
Pentagon stooges compile their proposed lists of who should be executed,
and
the president orders a kill?
….During the Bush years … Bush
refused to disclose the memoranda
from his Office of Legal Counsel (OLC)
that legally authorized torture, rendition, warrantless eavesdropping and
the like …
The primary theory embraced by the
Bush administration to justify its War on Terror policies was that the "battlefield" is no longer
confined to identifiable geographical areas, but instead, the entire globe is
now one big, unlimited "battlefield".
That theory is both radical and
dangerous because a president's powers are basically omnipotent on a
"battlefield". There, state
power is shielded from law, from courts, from constitutional guarantees, from
all forms of accountability: anyone on a battlefield can be killed or
imprisoned without charges.
Another article written by Glenn Greenwald for Salon described
the Obama ordered assassination of Al Awlaki as such:
Excerpt:
It was first reported in January of
last year that the Obama administration had compiled a hit list of American
citizens whom the President had ordered assassinated without any due process,
and one of those Americans was Anwar al-Awlaki.
No effort was made to indict him for any crimes (despite a report
last October that the Obama administration was “considering” indicting
him). Despite substantial doubt among Yemen experts about whether he even
had any operational role in Al Qaeda, no
evidence (as opposed to unverified government accusations) was presented of his guilt.
When Awlaki’s father sought a court order barring Obama from killing
his son, the DOJ argued, among
other things, that such decisions were
“state secrets” and thus beyond the scrutiny of the courts.
When you think about it, who would benefit from the
assassination of Boris Nemtsov? Putin
certainly wasn’t threatened by Nemtsov, after all Putin’s approval rating is in
the 80% range.
Some say Nemtsov was in possession of proof that Putin had Russian
troops in Ukraine. According to Newsweek:
Excerpt:
Nemtsov's 'Evidence of Russian Troops in Ukraine' Taken by Police
Russian opposition leader Boris
Nemtsov, who was murdered on Saturday, was preparing to publish a report
detailing the presence of Russian soldiers in the east Ukraine conflict.
According to his fellow opposition
party member Ilya Yashin, Boris Nemtsov had been compiling a file of evidence
about allegations that Russia’s troops are backing separatist forces in
Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions, known collectively as Donbas,
before he was killed….
Accounts of Nemtsov’s alleged
report, detailing the presence of Russian troops in Donbas, have also been confirmed by Ukrainian
president Petro Poroshenko who
awarded Nemtsov with Ukraine’s Order of Freedom posthumously for his
political activism and for serving as “a bridge between Ukraine and Russia”.
Poroshenko expressed his belief
that whoever was afraid of what Nemtsov was preparing to reveal, was behind his
murder.
Hummm, that’s odd.
Boris Nemtsov was ready to reveal proof positive that Russia was
providing support to the Russian speaking people of Ukraine, who according to
Rand Corporation’s plan for Poroshenko, need to be placed in internment
camps.
I still don’t see why Putin would have anything to gain from
silencing Nemtsov, after all those scurrilous claims had already been
debunked. From Larouchepac.com:
Excerpt:
Nuland's Nazis
After being briefed on the details
of the delegation of Ukrainians who provided fake photos to Senator Jim Inhofe
and the U.S. Senate Armed Services alleging to depict Russian military columns
in Ukraine in December, Lyndon LaRouche denounced the delegation as a part of Victoria Nuland's Nazi faction, who have
been given priority access to members of the U.S. Congress as part of a
propaganda war, via the consent of Obama.
"It's Nuland who is the backer
of the Nazis in Ukraine, it is clear what she is doing. First she was a tool for Bush and Cheney, and now she is Obama's tool.
This is the group, this Nazi faction, who is going to continue the conflict in
spite of the agreements made by the 'Normandy Four.' These are Nuland's
Nazis."
—Lyndon LaRouche, February 14, 2015
Sen. Jim Inhofe's office issued a
statement yesterday admitting that a delegation of Ukrainians, led by three
members of the Ukrainian parliament (Supreme Rada) — who just happen to have
been hard-core Banderite fascists and field commanders in the civil war in the
Donbass — presented his office and the Senate Armed Services Committee on which
he serves with phony photos, alleging to
depict Russian military columns in Ukraine between Aug. 24 and Sept. 5, 2014.
At least one of the photos was in fact taken by Associated Press of
Russian convoys in Georgia during the conflict in South Ossetia nearly seven
years ago, in 2008. Several others
are readily available elsewhere online, and can be found using a Google Images
search.
Gee aren’t you glad that your Social Security Disability
benefits are being slashed 20% and pension plans are being emptied to pay for
photo’s that are readily available online
using a Google search?
But still, really what would Putin gain from the
assassination of Nemtsov? Putin had more
to gain from Nemtsov presenting his CIA provided “proof” of Russian tanks in
Ukraine. Some say that Nemtsov’s
assassination was in retaliation for an anti-Putin rally scheduled the next
day. From Syracuse.com:
Excerpt:
Russian opposition leader gunned down, killed one day before scheduled
anti-Putin protest
MOSCOW (AP) -- Boris Nemtsov, a
charismatic former deputy prime minister turned Russian opposition leader, was
shot and killed in Moscow Saturday, officials said.
Nemtsov's death comes just a day before a planned protest against
President Vladimir Putin's rule…
Nemtsov, who was 55, was a sharp
critic of Putin, assailing the government's inefficiency, rampant corruption
and the Kremlin's policy on Ukraine,
which has strained Russia-West ties to a degree unseen since Cold War times…
It seems kind of foolhardy to stage an anti-Putin rally in
the same place that the people of Russia had come out denouncing West’s coup in
Ukraine. From ABC News:
Excerpt:
Moscow Protesters Strike out Against Ukraine and the West
For the thousands of Russians
gathered near Red Square on Saturday, Maidan — the square in Kiev synonymous
with pro-European protests last year — is nothing to celebrate.
"Maidan is a festival of death ... Maidan is the smile of the American ambassador who, sitting in his
penthouse, is happy to see how brother is killing brother ... Maidan is the
concentration of everything anti-Russian ... Maidan is the embryo of
Goebbels," the organizers of Russia's new Anti-Maidan movement shouted
from the stage.
Demonstrators
vowed that last year's protests in Kiev — centered in the Maidan square which
ultimately forced Ukraine’s pro-Russian president to flee on Feb. 21 — would
never be repeated in Russia.
Ouch, I don’t think that Anti-Putin, Pro-Ukraine,
Pro-America, Pro-EU rally Nemtsov and the CIA planned would have been greeted
with open arms.
The protesters in Moscow were an assortment of ultranationalist bikers,
pensioners, war veterans, members of student organizations and activists from
other pro-Kremlin groups. Many of them waved Russian flags, others bore
banners that said "Die, America!" or "U$A, Stop the War!"
So the rally that Nemtsov had planned for Saturday was not
only anti-Putin, it was anti ultranationalist bikers, pensioners, war veterans
and student organizations. Sheesh, who
was going to attend?
"The United States is the
world's biggest terrorist. ... We believe we can rise up again if they leave us
alone, but they are always trying to teach us how to live," said
65-year-old Nina Kishkova, a retired teacher who was at the protest with her
friend. Another Maidan "will never win in Russia. I will bring the
ammunition myself."
I think it’s safe to say, Putin can be eliminated as a
suspect in the assassination of Boris Nemtsov. So I wonder, was Boris Nemtsov Assassinated or was he Baptized by Fire? Then I remembered the words of Glenn
Greenwald:
The power of accuser,
prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner are all consolidated in this one man,
and those powers are exercised in the dark.
